Imo state first lady and wife of the governor. Barr.Mrs Chioma Uzodimma will partner with Nigeria Association of Women journalists (NAWOJ) Imo State Chapter in her quest to champion the cause of women and children in the state.

This was made known by Her Excellency Barr Mrs Chioma Uzodimma when the Chairperson of NAWOJ Imo State Chapter Dr. Dorothy Nnaji led other members of the association for a familiarisation visit to the wife of the Governor in her office at the State government House Owerri.
Dr Nnaji who commended Barrister Chioma for her humanitarian services to women and children in the state of which she said is also inline with the association vision prompted the visit to seek for more collaboration for greater achievements.

Mrs Nnaji PhD outlined some of the logistics challenges facing the council of which according to her had poised a big threat towards the fight against any form of children or women abuse which is on the increase across the country Imo State inclusive.
Responding, the wife of the Governor Barrister Chioma Uzodimma expressed her readiness to partner and support the association in their efforts towards promoting the welfare and safety of women and children which she said should be paramount for any society to thrive.

Barrister Chioma regretted the increasing rate of child abuse in the state and encouraged mothers to always pay closer attention to their children hence the current administration will not relent in its efforts in ensuring safety of women and children in the state and person who is found wanting will be arrested and arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.

The highlights of the visit was the conferment of patroness tittle to the Governor’s wife by the NAWOJ chairperson on behalf of NAWOJ Imo State Chapter.
