IMO NAWOJ APPLAUDS IMO FIRST LADY BARR CHIOMA UZODIMMA, HON IKPAMEZIE ON HUMANITARIAN SERVICES

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Imo State Chapter has applauded her Excellency Barr. Mrs Chioma Uzodimma for her numerous advocacy and humanitarian activities, describing her as a gift to humanity.

This was contained in a release signed by the Chairperson Dr Dorothy Nnaji and the Secretary Comrade Chika Ewurum.

The release stated that the Association is pleased with her Excellency Barr (Mrs) Chioma Uzodimma for her swift intervention on the case of a 14- year old miss Marvelous Uchechi Ezike of Orodo Community, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo.

Miss Marvellous, was abused and brutalized by her guardian Mrs Onuoha Constance Onyinye for washing clothes in the kitchen using cable wire which led to a minor surgery to remove a particle of the cable wire from her palm.

The Association is pleased with her activities through the GoodHope Flourish Foundation, which has served as a connect making a positive impact on the lives of the needy, downtrodden and addressing every form of assault including gender based”, NAWOJ boss submitted.

The release described the wife of the governor as a rare person as she offered to pay Marvelous’ schools fees henceforth and establish trade for her mother, who is a groundnut hawker, to ensure financial stability in the family.

Similarly, the Association also commended Hon Engr Innocent Ikpamezie, member representing Mbaitoli State Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, for picking Miss Marvellous’ hospital bill while not forgetting that Her Excellency was able to intervene on Marvellous’ case through the proactive approach of Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Group, Hon (Mrs) Nkechinyere Ugwu who has worked tirelessly in ensuring that the molested and abused get justice.
