TRAGEDY IN AWKA AS HOUSE BOY HACKS MASTER TO DEATH – Chima Anolue, Staff of Unizik and Choirmaster sent to early grave
It was a gory sight to behold on Friday, the 14th day of July, in Awka, Anambra State, as a young vibrant man, Mr Chima Anolue was hacked down to death by his house boy, Ifesinachi, a 17 year old boy.
Chima Anolue, until his death was a staff of Psychology Department, Faculty of Social Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and was a renowned Choirmaster at the school Chaplaincy.
Interrogating the house boy, who is said to be a young boy from Ebonyi State, whom Chima enrolled and is sponsoring through school, trouble started when Chima came in and instructed him to cook rice, being that Chima was still single until his death. The account so far is according to the confession of the house boy. No other report is available until police investigation is released.
While issuing instruction to the boy Ifesinachi, Chima realised that plates not washed were littered there in the kitchen and demanded from his boy, Ifesinachi, for an explanation for keeping the kitchen in a mess. The boy kept silent after his several queries and as a result, Chima slapped him.
The boy, according to his confession, told Chima that nobody slaps him and resorted to collect kitchen pestle to hit Chima on the head and he fell down. He proceeded to hit him three times and Chima was unconscious and according his further confession, he used kitchen knife to stab him severally on the face.
Chima Anolue, aged 36 years, was confirmed dead when he was taken to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital by neighbours who rushed in following the noise emanating from the apartment.
The death of Mr Chima Anolue, a staff of Unizik and a seasoned Choirmaster, a bachelor looking forward to a blissful life ahead, is an indication of how morally deranged the society has gotten to. People need to be careful with whom they take into their abode as some people like his house boy are blood thirsty.
