IKENGA IMO UGOCHINYERE AND HIS MACABRE DANCE, A CHICKEN SHOULD NOT CALL ITSELF AN EAGLE
The attention of Imo Hope for Good Governance has been drawn to a press release purportedly sponsored by Hon. Ugochinyere Ikegwuonu, called IKENGA Imo, the Federal Lawmaker representing Ideato North and South Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, titled “APC CHAIRMAN REJECTION OF 10TH NASS LEADERSHIP, HANDIWORK OF GOV. UZODIMMA, TO UNDERMINE 10TH NASS AND TINUBU’S SMOOTH TAKEOFF” refers.
It is baffling to all sane fellows that IKENGA IMO UGOCHINYERE who has just been inaugurated as the Lawmaker for his Federal Constituency has not been able to settle down to comprehend the demands of the mandate of the constituents, he has not understood the fundamental steps to be taken in authoring bills and motions and has not understood the rules of engagement with the appropriate government apparatus but will rather recline to courting disaffection and throwing tantrums.
The land of Ideato is ravaged by landslide and erosion and other forms of natural disasters, Ugochinyere would not see such as cases calling for urgent national attention but will begin to hallucinate, positing as one who is in position to advise the president on what to do and what his little mind conceives. This is a height of poor assessment of his person and his place in the scheme of governance of Nigeria.
For point of emphasis, Ugochinyere is a first timer in the national Assembly and he is in the lower Chambers. He is pointing at Sen. Hope Uzodimma, who is not only the governor of Imo State, but a two time senator of the Federal Republic. Perhaps it is an act of feeling like he has arrived that he doesn’t know his seniors and those he must have to respect.
In addition, that the governor has risen to become the Chairman of Progressive Governors and South East Governors’ forum, a position that places all governors of South East including PDP, APGA, Labour and APC under his watch, is significant enough to tell IKENGA that all he is trying to do is to seek for an attention by trying to court diatribe with a standout model who is not his size.
The law of syllogism was disrespected by the assertion of IKENGA IMO when he alleged that for the fact that the national chairman of APC interfaced with the APC governors and therefore the resolution of the national party was doctored by Sen. Hope Uzodimma is a fallacy of incompressible dimension. It shows how empty headed such a fellow could be and shows that he is not possessing requisite grey matter sufficient to represent Ideato people in the green Chambers. IKENGA IMO is exposing his deficiencies in reasoning, this is a wrong indicator for Ideato nation.
For emphasis, the chairman of APC, Alh. Abdulahi Adamu, a former two terms governor of a state and a national figure is not within the ranks of people, feeble-minded IKENGA IMO can curry into his ill-conceived entanglement. He only did the requisite consultation required to secure the consent of strategic stakeholders, consulting with progressive governors forum. The outcome is the resolution of stakeholders, not an individual.
Suffice it to state that the outburst of IKENGA IMO on an internal matter of APC is a pointer that his opposition clique must have ambushed the Senate President and the Speaker and wondered why he is bold to state that the National Assembly peopled by majority of APC lawmakers should do the bidding of minority lawmakers.
APC is a.party that is guided by the core tenets of democratic norms and cannot be ambushed by the likes of IKENGA IMO. So once the party leadership has dissociated from the pronouncement of the leadership of the National Assembly, we stand by that decision and cannot allow infiltration of feeble minds like IKENGA IMO and his cotravellers.
We must make it clear here that any attempt to sow disaffection between the president and our dear Chairman of Progressive Governors Forum, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, citing his purported support for another aspirant in the course of elections leading to the 2023 transition is an illusion dead on arrival. Our dear governor and leader of all APC governors is a loyal party man who is Central in leading our people and ensuring that we get the best democratic yield.
IMO HOPE for Good Governance, IHFGG, therefore warns IKENGA IMO UGOCHINYERE to desist from his ill-advised, incoherent and inconsistent attempt to disparage and cast slur on our performing Governor who distinguished himself in Lawmaking and now leading the folds of the governors to deliver in line with the vision of our dear president, Sen. Ahmed Bola Tinubu. Any further act to embarrass our dear governor and leader will be ultimately and fiercely resisted.
IMO State needs peace and respect for elders and for constituted authority and not a place to breed charlatans and intoxicated people who are like chickens attempting to rank with eagles.
