The Director General of Imo Hope for Good Governance, IHFGG, Hon. Chris Mbarie has emphasized that the governor of Imo State and the shared prosperity Government are not to blame for the spate of security challenges in the state.
Fielding questions from Journalists on his return from Abuja, where he went to receive national merit award as the winner of the prize for the chairman of local government area in the country to come tops in security designs, architecture and initiatives, said that Gov. Hope Uzodimma inspired his actions that won the state the coveted award.
Hon. Pst. Chris Mbarie came tops after thorough evaluation of his security initiatives that stemmed down the ire of security volatility in the Orlu Local Government Area. The award is for the best security conscious chairman among the 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria.
Recall that Orlu is the neighbor and the parent local government of Orsu LGA but the heightened Insecurity in Orsu was not allowed to spread through Orlu regardless of the topography that suggests a Haven for such. The reason is because of the soft security measures and the sensitivity applied by Mbarie and his team.
The sole Administrator of Orlu Local Government Area eulogized Gov. Hope Uzodimma for his focussed and fair approach to governance and his humane heart of care for the people. He reiterated that Gov. Hope loves and respects sacredness of life and does not like anything that affects security, comfort and progress of people more so his love for Imo State is unimaginable.
Mbarie added that opposition elements in the state need to grow above anachronistic politics to embrace politics with human face. He said that what the people need is to approach matters of state affairs from nonpartisan approach so that all stakeholders will sincerely tackle the affairs of insecurity, call interested groups to order and advise divisive interests to respect sacredness of lives and call for peace.
Security is the concern of all. The governor will gain nothing from putting his subjects to harm. The call is for all to synergize strengths in order to zero in on proponents of insecurity. IMO State belongs to all, not to one party or another, Mbarie insisted.
He stressed that the governor has provided necessary logistics for security agencies but cautions that people need to retrace their steps from fanning embers of insecurity. Peace is not achieved through security hardware alone but through soft policy that builds trust and collective well-being. Engagement and sincerity of all is necessary, he asserted.
Mbarie commends the governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma for his giant strides in governance and says that the governor has proved to be a good leader and that one good turn deserves another and therefore should be reelected come November 2023.
