The Governor of Imo State his Exellency Senator Hope Uzodimma were among the dignitaries present as Kingsley Nnaemeka Uchendu wedding in Abuja recently.
Kingsley Nnaemeka, who is the son of the former Secretary to Imo state Government , Engr Mark Chijioke Uchendu, during the administration of Owelle Rochas Okorocha got married to his heartthrob Chelsea Amaka Umeokeke at Holy Cross Catholic Church Gwarimpa, Abuja
The wedding which was attended by crème de la Crème of the society within and outside Abuja had the Governor represented by the Attorney General of Imo State C.O.C Akaolisa.
During homily, one of the Officiating Priest, Rev. Fr. Vincent Ononiwu citing a portion in the firstreading from Tobias 8:4_8 which says ” You made Adam and gave Eve his wife as a helper and support. it’s not good that the man should be alone, let us make a helper for him like himself “. ” And now, O lord I am not taking this sister of mine because of lust, but with sincerity, grant that I may find mercy and grow old together with her”. And the gospel from Mark 10:6-9 which also had it ” from the beginning of creation, God made them Male and female, for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together let not man put asunder “.
Fr. Vincent advised the couple to love , respect each other and above all communication with each other as he maintained that it is the duty of the man to love his wife and the wife to be submissive to her husband.
The Priest further admonished the parents of the couple that it’s their sole responsibility that their children marriage do flourish.
The highlight of the event was the blessing and exchange of the marital vows as the Priest blessed the couple saying ” may God the eternal father keep you of one heart in love for one another, that peace of christ may dwell in you and abide always in your home”. The couple and the congregation said Amen.
