HON. PRINCESS MIRIAM ONUOHA IS THE FACE OF WOMEN IN IMO POLITICS – NAWOJ Imo State Chapter
Princess Miriam Onuoha, the member Representing Okigwe North Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives has been described as the face of Imo Women in the 2023 politics of Imo State.
Addressing colleagues, the female journalists, the Chairman of NAWOJ, Imo State, Dr Dorothy Nnaji, stated that Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha represents irrepressible charism, resilience, tender care, effective representation and gender Inclusiveness in the politics of Imo State and in Nigeria.
She congratulated her for her emergence and Inauguration as a ranking member of the Federal Legislature, and described it as an uncommon feat for her to be reelected to represent her Constituency. She added that politics in imo State and Nigeria has not yet provided the latitude to facilitate the attainment of 35% affirmative as prescribed at the 1995 Beijing conference and as such has been a male dominated realm.
She added that the resilience and brave determination of Princess Miriam Onuoha to stand the tough terrain and the faith the people have in her earned her victory. She thanked the performing Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, for providing her with the right support that won her return ticket to the Federal House.
NAWOJ boss urged Princess Miriam Onuoha to see this as an opportunity to represent what women of Imo State are capable of doing, changing the narratives of service to show compassion and effectiveness in order to make a stronger case for inclusion of more women in the political stream going forward.
Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha has therefore become the face of political victory of women in the politics of Imo State, an ambassador of gender Inclusiveness and amiable leader of the people.
