ONGOING CONSTRUCTION OF EMEKUKU-AZAREGBELU ROAD ….Residents and commuters, in imo state advised to use alternative route
The Imo State government, through the Commissioner for works Mr Ralph Nwosu has advised Imolites and other road users to seek alternative routes from 10th June 2023 to 30th June 2023.
This notice came from a release signed by the Commissioner for works Mr Ralph Nwosu which states ” this is to inform the general public and especially owerri – Umuahia road users , that due to heavy construction activity around Okatankwo River and along Emekuku – Azaraegbelu axis, there will be partial road block of this area”.
The release has that , the state government regrets the inconvenience this would cause road users in the state but it’s to ensure that democratic dividends gets to the people.
Also, the partial road block is to enable effective and speedy construction, which will last from 10th of June to 30th of June 2023.
To this end, the release advised motorist to use alternative routes other than Emekuku- Azaragbelu to ease off traffic gridlock.
This is a commendable step taken to mitigate the suffering of commuters. Early release of information and scheduled tenure of the partial closure shows that the government and the construction company are sensitive and detailed in their project timeline, a civilized approach to construction.
