The Director General of Imo Hope for Good Governance, IHFGG, and Sole Administrator of Orlu LGA, Hon. Chris Mbarie, onbehalf of the largest body of functional supporters of the Administration and good works of His Excellency Gov Hope Uzodimma, Onwa Oyoko, felicitates with the governor on the Democracy day celebration.
DG Chris Mbarie stated this while briefing press men in Owerri, adding that celebrating 24 uninterrupted years of democracy is a milestone for a nation like Nigeria.
According to the cleric turned politician, Nigeria has gradually moved from nascent democracy to practicing democracy. As the largest democracy in Africa and the largest black democracy in the world, although it has not attained a perfect state of democratic evolvement, but it is work in progress. According to Hon. Mbarie, Nigerian democracy gets better with age.
He used the opportunity to congratulate the governor Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma and assured him of the continuous support and prayers of IHFGG.
Adding to that he also congratulated Sen. Osita Izunaso, the Senator Elect for Imo West senatorial district and High Chief Canice-More Chigozie Nwachukwu, Omeogo, Ogbaturuenyi n’Orlu, Federal House of Representatives member-Elect for Orlu, Orsu, Oru East Federal Constituency, and the General Overseer Camp Hope World-wide, on the Democracy day celebration of 2023.
Hon. Chris Mbarie wished them awesome celebration especially as the national Assembly gets inaugurated for the elected legislators to commence utilization of their mandate to provide effective representation for their constituents, and he wished the country happy democracy day celebration.
Recall that democracy day celebration used to be marked on 29th May following the transition of power from military to civilian government but as a mark of honour to the victory of Bashorun MKO Abiola that was adjudged the freest and fairest election in the history of Nigeria, June 12th was identified and enacted by the national Assembly as the national democracy day.
Hon. Mbarie urged all Nigerians to guard the treasured democracy jealously as it holds the hope for the well-being of Nigeria going forward.
