POLITICAL TSUNAMI HITS OKWUDOR PDP AS CHIEF B.I. UMELO LEADS 17 PDP STALWARTS TO DECAMP TO APC, COMMENDING GOV. UZODIMMA FOR DELIVERING QUALITY INFRASTRUCTURE

Okwudor ward, the single largest ward in Njaba Constituency, comprising of 22 polling units and significant number of registered voters has witnessed political realignment that is akin to tsunami.
On Sunday, 19th May, at the country home of Chief Barnabas Ikwumeka Umelo, was held a Celebration to officially receive stalwarts of PDP, called Big-17, in Okwudor ward to APC.
Chief Barnabas Umelo, who was until his decamping to APC, a prominent leader and former House of Assembly aspirant, led other notable leaders to join the ruling party.
APC party members and leaders of Okwudor led by the Okwudor ward party chairman, Njaba monitor and Solad Designate, Hon. Obikaeze Anaemem, Rt. Hon. Dr. Uju Onwudiwe, PhD, Igolo Njaba, former House of Assembly member, Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi, Etiokwe Njaba, former Solad Njaba, and a host of party faithful thronged out in numbers to receive the decampees. Goodwill message from Hon. Barr. Harrison Nwadike was received.
Performing the rights of receiving the big 17 into the party, Rt. Hon. Amb. Uju Onwudiwe, PhD, expressed joy that Okwudor APC family, by witnessing this uncommon exodus from PDP to join forces to build APC, is set for higher political reward to all. Dr Onwudiwe thanked them for finding it expedient to come in to show love to the performing governor, adding that it was their love for Sen. Hope Uzodimma that led them to decide on their own to drop umbrella to embrace broom.
Igolo Njaba informed the incoming APC members that the entire leadership of APC in Okwudor ward led by Hon. Barr. Harrison Nwadike, Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi, Etiokwe, Hon. Obikaeze Anaemem and all leaders and People were in one accord to receive them into the party, assuring them that everybody will receive equal treatment without segregation.
Dr A. B. C. Odika, a prominent son of Umuelem and Okwudor ward added his voice to welcome them into APC, assuring them that we shall grow and reap together.
The Apex leader of APC Okwudor, Ichie Peter Okorocha cheerfully welcomed the decampees led by Chief B. I. Umelo into APC family assuring the new entrants that they are to be fully and unconditionally accommodated.
Speaking after the handover of the APC flag, Chief Barnabas Umelo expressed joy that he has finally joined the moving train. He commended the governor Sen. Hope Uzodimma for the revolution in infrastructure and for appointing Okwudor son as Solad Designate in addition to other remarkable benefits Okwudor has enjoyed such as the return of Equity in securing Federal House for Njaba through Okwudor son. He assured that their coming in is to help strength the party for greater heights and to join hands to advance the gains of democracy in Okwudor and Njaba for greater impact in Imo State and Nigeria
Barr. Anthony uzonwune, thanked all who came to witness the event and stated that he has only returned back to where he belonged saying that APC is the right place to be.
Other speakers such as Hon. Chidi Ike, former councilor Okwudor ward, Mrs Mabel Ezekwem, former woman Leader, PDP Okwudor ward spoke to commend the governor for his giant strides and to commend APC family of Okwudor for showing uncommon love and respect for hierarchy. They all pledged total commitment to APC goals and for the good of Okwudor ebenasator.
Some of the former PDP members who joined APC in Okwudor include: Chief B. I. UMELO, Oganihu Campaign Organization and Nwachinaemere Okwudor, Ichief Barr. Anthony uzonwune, Hon. Chidi Ike, Hon. Mrs Mabel Ezekwem, Ichie Hillary Ihesie. Others include: Chief C. Oguike, Mr Lemmy Onyeze, Ichie Jude Onyeze, Mrs Esther Ejikeme, Mr Christian Ejikeme, Mr Gabriel Emegano, Mr Christopher Emejuru, Mr Ugochukwu Ibekwe, Dr Protase Iwuaba, Sir Tobias Emegano, and others.
The Sterling leadership role of Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi, Etiokwe Njaba, and Dr Uju Onwudiwe, Igolo Njaba, and the focused conduct of Okwudor APC gladiators has continued to pull down barriers and to further strength the grassroots hold of APC, repositioning Okwudor for greater gains. Okwudor is ready for the now and the future political relevance and strides, a new Dawn in the political configuration of the ancient kingdom and kingmaker of Njaba politics.
