AL – TERSHEK SECURITY OUTFIT…BENUE STATE GOVERNMENT DISTANCE SELF, DESCRIBE IT AS INVIDECIOUS
The government of Benue State under the leadership of the Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Lormem Alia, has dissociated the State Government from the formation of Al-Tershek Security outfit. Speaking to the press, on behalf of the governor, the Deputy Governor, distanced the administration from the formation and commissioning of Fulani Security outfit known as Al-Tershek Global Security Outfit owned by one Aliyu Deshaku.
This was made known by the Deputy Governor Sam Ode during a press conference held in Makurdi.
The Deputy Governor, Sam Ode, denied commissioning any Security outfit nor did he mandate any one to lauch the outfit on his behalf, said
” As the Deputy Governor of Benue state , I did not authorize any group or any individual to represent me at such event which was termed the commissioning of Security outfit known as Al- Tershek Global Security Outfit “.
He maintained that ” as a government, we are calling on the good people of Benue state , and of course the very distinguished members of the Press, to note this invidecious plot, calculated to cause disaffection and scare citizens of Benue state”.
Earlier, State Acting chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Isaac MFFO, described the security outfit alleged to have been established by the government as absurd, and lacking in legal backing.
He pointed out that ” it is questionable considering that the owner of the outfit known as Aliyu Dashaku has severally been arrested and profiled by federal Security Agencies as having links to the Boko Haram Terriorist groups”.
Mr Isaac onbehalf of PDP said ” we condemn all the misguided arbitrary and unpopular actions taken by Governor Hyacinth Lormem Alia as he called on all who mean well for Benue State to do the same”.
We must recall that over 2 million residents out of about 7million residents of Benue State are living in the Internally Displaced Camp deserting their homes as a result of constant attack by fulani herdsmen.
However, this has turned to be denied by the government citing the establishment of the security outfit as having not consent of the government of Benue State.
