IZUNASO, EXCITED OVER THE COMMISSIONING OF GAS PROJECTS IN IMO STATE, ASSURES ORLU SENATORIAL DISTRICT OF MORE IMPACTFUL REPRESENTATION
The news of the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to Imo State and Delta State to commission gas plants constructed to boost gas infrastructure in the country brought cheers and excitement from Sen. Osita Izunaso, the senator Representing Imo West Senatorial District in the national Assembly.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was in Kwale to commission the three gas projects executed by NNPC Ltd and partners in Ohaji-Egbema, Imo State, and Kwale, Delta State on Wednesday.
The three projects include the expansion of AHL Gas processing plant, the ANOH Gas processing plant and the 23.3km ANOH to Obiafu-Obirikom-Oben (OB3) custody Transfer Metering station gas pipeline projects.
Recall that the projects of the gas plant being commissioned today in Imo State was attracted by Sen. Osita Izunaso, and his tireless effort during his first tenure in the Senate, where as Chairman Senate Committee on Gas, he sponsored survey studies that produced the report that Imo State is the home of gas reserve in Nigeria and Africa. With the outcome of the study he commissioned, it was found out that Imo State has gas deposit of 200Tscf of gas in reserve, making it the 9th in the world highest reserve, the highest in Nigeria and Africa, and therefore included iñ the National gas Development master plan of Nigeria.
Sen. Osita Izunaso was able to do that because he understood the way systems and protocols work. Without Imo State listed in the gas development master plan, there wouldn’t have been a development project for gas in Imo State. ASSA project is therefore a testimony of his vision and effort.
His actions opened the state up to be a destination of choice for investors and to be the centrepiece of economic activities and industrial clusters going forward. Gas value chain will spring up in Imo State, employment generated and ecosystem develop for virile economic activities.
ASSA gas project will spur gas supply to modular refineries, turbine power stations and establishment of industrial clusters and other huge economic life. This is also contributing to the bold step of the state government led by H.E. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, to among other things, propose construction of ocean access and river ports to provide throughput for business ecosystem in imo state.
It is because of the gas infrastructure that the governor could easily attract over $1.5 Billion investment in power sector and establishment of 200 room Imo Marriott Hotel.
Sen. Osita Izunaso has written his name in gold by ensuring that Imo State is placed among league of nations with huge economic base, making Imo state the 4th largest economy in Nigeria with GDP of $13.5 Billion.
Sen. Izunaso has continued to blaze the trail in this his return to the National Assembly, setting the tone for economic rejuvenation of Orlu zone, Imo State and Nigeria in general.
Hearty commendation to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and NNPC Ltd, and partners, for the feat achieved as Nigeria proves to be on the pedestrian of growth and development courtesy of potent initiatives of Sen. Osita Izunaso.
