RAINDROPS INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY, AMANNACHI, HOLDS INAUGURATION AND 2ND MATRICULATION CEREMONY

Abraham Lincoln once said ” Upon the subject of education … I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we as a people may be engaged in ” This is a truism in our time when many have lost knowledge of true value and feel that something else can substitute for education.

A son of Amannachi, a priest of Orlu Catholic Diocese and a priest in the Diaspora, serving in Germany, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Dr. Remigius Orjiukwu, saw the need to bring home transformational development through hibrid quality education.



Pulling together global personalities across Europe through his foundation, Raindrops Foundation for Nigeria e.v, Germany, Fr. Orjiukwu rolled out the vision of floating a credible tertiary Institution to equip People with globally rated skills and quality learning.

RAINDROPS Institute of Management and Technology is a unique school that provides learning and it’s highly equipped with hi-tech facilities and cross-European knowledge base and skillup.



Gathering creme de la creme of the society, Raindrops Institute of Management and Technology was officially inaugurated on Saturday, 4th May, 2024, at the campus in Amannachi, Orsu LGA. At the event also was marked the second matriculation ceremony of the Institute.
Significantly, the governor of Imo State, His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodimma was scheduled to be Visitor to the Institution at the Inauguration ceremony. Due to his tight schedule, he couldn’t attend the Inauguration and Matriculation ceremony and after the event, invited the management of the school to hold interaction with him at government house. At the session, he promised full support to Raindrops Institute of Management and Technology. Gov. Uzodimma commended Fr. Orjiukwu and his team for the bold step taken to impact on humanity through Raindrops Institute. He remarked that such giant strides will complement the efforts of the 3-R government in providing accelerated development to the state.



The Vice Chancellor of Imo State University, Prof. U. U. Chukwumaeze was the special Guest of Honour and he graced the event, accompanied by his principal officers from the University.
The event started with Holy Mass presided over by His Lordship, Most. Rev. Dr. Thomas Obiatuegwu , the Auxiliary Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Orlu. The Catholic Diocese of Orlu is an Equity share owner in the institution.
The Raindrops Institute of Management and Technology has eight departments so far existing and they have admitted students who matriculated at the event, the second matriculation ceremony of the Institute. The departments are Science Laboratory Technology, Electrical Electronics Engineering, Building Construction Technology, Banking Operations, Business Informatics, Mass Communication, Computer Software Engineering, and more to come soon.


Presenting the inaugural address, Dr Remigius Orjiukwu, the founder and Rector of the Institute stated that his vision is to introduce a unique educational institution that boasts of cross cultural collaboration and resource sharing. The institution has established effective collaboration with tertiary Institutions in Germany and Nigeria. The collaboration allows students and lecturers to enjoy cross institutional posting and offshore exposure and training to enable technological transfer and comparative nudge. This attests to the synergy with institutions across and at the local level, having Imo State University as an endorsing institution.



Prof. U. U. Chukwumaeze, during his address, affirmed the readiness of Imo State University to collaborate and share resources to grant Raindrops Institute the footing to rise to the top. He stated that Imo State University is ready and willing to accord Raindrops Institute all necessary support and to collaborate in all aspects that may be necessary. This is significant and an affirmation of approval of request earlier lodged by Raindrops with the ivory towers.
Details of the collaboration with Imo State University and other offshore institutions will be unveiled in due course.


Rev. Prof. Christian Anieke, the Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University and the guest speaker, urged Raindrops Institute to take up the tall challenge of raising Raindrops Institute to rank with Massachusetts Institute and other ivory towers within the next 10 years. He reminded the founder and the management that other institutes had humble beginning but with diligence and resilience, they rose to greatness. He further urged the school to devise working strategy to groom employable products well equipped stating that there is no unemployment but a barrage of unemployable people. He added that Raindrops can reverse the trend by incorporating skills and programs that will see their products emerge with industry and economy needed skills He harped on the need to introduce potent entrepreneurship program for Sustainable Development.


Raindrops Institute of Management and Technology boasts of multi-racial mix of membership of the governing council. They include: Rev. Fr. Dr. Dr. Remigius Orjiukwu, Chairman, Dr Esiegwu Okechukwu.V. Secretary, Dr Callistus Nwokeji, Dr Peter Amagwula, Engr. Chinedum Uzoma Ezike, Chief Magistrate Felicitas Nwamaka Amanze, Engr. Reinhold Gerster (German), Engr. Dr. Bernhard Wiedemann (German), Rev. Prof. Eugene Anowai, and statutory members representing Executive Secretary NBTE, and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education.


Raindrops Institute has specialised equipment such as Nano Technology equipment and other top range of equipment, the first in the sub-Saharan Africa. And the associates in Europe have committed to ensuring that it remains a leading institution in analytical development and an excellent Institution of global standard.
