IZUNASO AND OTHER MEMBERS OF SENATE ADHOC COMMITTEE INSPECT KADUNA REFINERY
In a steady record of performance and continuous strive to revive the economy of Nigeria, Dist. Sen. Osita Bonaventure Izunaso has continued to work tirelessly to see to the turnaround of the economy through legislative processes and oversight.
As a critical economic infrastructure, the Senate setup an adhoc Committee to engage in downstream petroleum sector, knowing fully well that it is central to the economic life of the nation. The committee was led by Sen. Ifeanyi Uba and Sen. Osita Izunaso formed part of the team and they embarked on inspection of the Kaduna refinery undergoing the process of Turn Around Maintenance (TAM).

The effort to revive the refineries and to make them to begin to perform optimally is part of the single window economic blueprint of the Renewed Hope agenda of PBAT led government.
Recall that at the inception of the 10th Senate, Sen. Osita Bonaventure Izunaso spoke on the competence of the companies that in the past were contracted to handle turn around maintenance of refineries. The legal luminary and legislative icon wondered why companies who were not part of the construction of the refinery would be contracted to handle turnaround maintenance and he described it as an aberration, urging the government to begin to do the right things and to begin to engage the right people with the right capacities to handle sensitive infrastructure in the country.

According to Sen. Izunaso, the total removal of petroleum subsidy is a courageous policy of the PBAT government and holds the potentials to totally address the economic challenges bedeviling Nigeria and full production operation of existing refineries and establishment of new refineries will contribute to free market Dynamics of effective demand and supply leading to market equilibrium and optimal yield to the economy.

The chairman Senate Committee on Capital Market and member Senate Committee on public finance and now member adhoc Committee on downstream petroleum for refinery intervention is positive that engaging the right Organisation with requisite competences is a sure way of delivering quality Services to Nigerians.
Sen. Izunaso emphasizes that frontally addressing the downstream petroleum value chain is fundamental in repositioning Nigerian economy and mitigating the sufferings citizens are passing through.

Izunaso is committed to quality service and dedication to the altruistic drive to upscale the economic rejuvenation of Nigeria and to realise better standard of living for the most populous black nation and largest economy in Africa.

They will brief the Senate on the outcome of their Inspection visit for necessary legislative procedures.
