Mel Daimeon lives, only transited ——– Chinaemerem
By: Ajuzie chizoba It was with heart full of sorrows as High Chief Mel Daimeon Osuji of Umuaro Umunumo in Ehime Mbano LGA Imo State of Nigeria was buried on the 17th of April, 2024 at his home compound in Umunumo.
Life is but a stage where people choose what legacy to leave behind, through their daily strides.
The man Okpataobaraoha was educated, a first class honours product of Economics, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and was amazingly intelligent and goal-oriented. His exposure in international business is where he built business empire. He was a major player in construction, oil and gas, community development and lots more. Mel was a man of indescribable exposure. A genius that bestrode the face of the Earth and shared our daily commonalities.
Indeed there was an explosion in the firmament, then certain star of high echelon did fall in Umunumo . Mel Daimeon is a man that had uncommon character that everyone emulates, a man whose philanthropic acts speaks for him and speaks volumes . His death was a very big loss to Mbano, Imo State and the country at large.
Mel, during his lifetime was a super high Chief, even at a young age. He was conferred with three (3) Chieftaincy tittles, in Umunumo; Omereoha 1, Onwanagbaraoha 1 and Okpataobaraoha 1 of Umunumo ancient kingdom because of his generosity.
Mel Daimeon Chinaemerem Osuji (Jnr) stated while interacting with press crew that his late father still lives, only transited. He described his father as a gentle giant, a man who comported himself with utmost sense of humility and intellectual responsibility towards his people.
He further thanked the Mammoth crowd who sympathised with them at the time of pain. He prayed that they will not experience untimely death in their homes and for journey mercy while going back to their various places.
HRH Eze Peter .C. Opara , who paid a tribute to late High Chief Mel Daimeon Osuji, urged the family to be consoled as Okpataobaraoha left good legacy .
He stated that “Okpata Obaraoha” was a man of the people. Adding that despite his achievements, his humility was enviable. The only man that stood out, identified with youth and aged people.
Adding that, OkpataObaraoha , showed greatness and answered whenever his attention was needed. He further said that even in his house , everyone was treated equally with respect.
Lastly ” his death is an irreparable loss and an indellible mark in the footsteps on the sands of time.
Many Dignitaries, traditional rulers and sympathizers were present to pay last respect to Okpataobaraoha .
The funeral mass was celebrated by the Bishop of Okigwe Catholic Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev Solomon Amatu and a host of priests.
