EULOGIES AS UZODIMMA, IZUNASO, AND OTHER DIGNITARIES PAY RESPECT TO LATE CHIEF CHRIS OHURUZO, ISHIMMIRI AMUCHA
It was a night of tributes to a fallen hero who was attested to as a great man with heart of charity and touch of humility. Chief Christopher Chukwuemeka Ohuruzo, Ishimmiri Amucha, aged 60 years, was eulogized as a good man with uncommon character of philanthropy, immeasurable charity and simple heart, humorous and a goal-getter.

Leading the night of tributes, Mr Eddy Odunze welcomed all guests on behalf of the immediate family of Amucha Community and attested to the good and charitable life of the fallen hero, Ishimmiri.
Prof. U. U. Chukwumaeze, the Vice Chancellor of Imo State University, Owerri, a prominent son of Amucha Ancient kingdom, Amucha Ohonnya, spoke glowingly about the man who lies stone cold now. He described Ishimmiri as a man whose benevolence knows no boundaries and who would use every inch of opportunity to appreciate God. He recalled how after escaping plane crash, survived series of armed robbery attack and would give to God an appreciation to support the building of St. Theresa’s Church, Amucha and many more. His construction and donation of a Church, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Amucha, and procurement of brand new vehicle for the Amucha born Bishop at his Episcopal installation as the new bishop of the Catholic diocese of Orlu are some highlights.

He pointed out that by the death of Ishimmiri, a great iroko has fallen, a gap has been created and the mighty one has succumbed to the claws of the agent of purveyor of call to eternity.
Sen. Osita Izunaso stepped in to eulogize the sleeping giant. He harped on Ishimmiri’s benevolence and stated that his Goodwill went beyond boundaries to impact the wider society. Sen. Izunaso urged all to emulate life and times of Ishimmiri, assuring that since Ishimmiri left behind eight children and his wife, he only transited to immortality, not death, as his legacies will continue to live on.

The biggest masquerade, the Governor, His Excellency Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, Onwa Oyoko, crowned the night of tributes by illustrating how Ishimmiri in his life time did everything well. Onwa Oyoko emphasized how Ishimmiri was a reliable friend dated back to his pre-senatorial times and how he invested in every phase of his political project without demanding for anything.
Gov. Uzodimma explained that there are two types of friends, which are personal friends and official friends. He qualified Ishimmiri as personal friend who was consistent and always in touch regardless of distance.

The governor described how Ishimmiri would spend his time, resources and Energy to deliberate on how to impact others and never his own personal request. He urged all to support the family at this trying time and never to use this loss as an opportunity to turn the family into a capital project to suck them. Gov. Hope Uzodimma added that before Ishimmiri gave up the ghost, he passionately requested that his wife and children be taken care of, and that remains the course to which all who benefited from his large heart should just get committed to in order to ensure that the family is made to be fine in his absence.
Gov. Uzodimma thanked God that Ishimmiri has capable wife whom he indoctrinated into his business empire and his children who have come of age to sustain his legacies and prayed for his peaceful repose.
Gov. Uzodimma put the rhetorical question, why do good people die and why do bad people live long? He said that he wouldn’t have imagined that a good man like Ishimmiri would die so soon but that points at the reality of the way for all mortals.
