IZUNASO MEETS WITH UNIDO REPRESENTATIVE, EXPLORES PROSPECT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF ORLU ZONE
Effective utilization of an office is a direct reflection of the inherent capacity of the occupant. While some who are not intellectually endowed see it as an opportunity for self aggrandizement, the intellectually endowed see it as a means to end squalor, unlock economic potentials end years of dislocated economic fluidity and to chat a new course to jumpstart Economic viability.
Sen. Osita Izunaso, the intellectual giant and ranking senator of the 10th Senate, representing Imo West Senatorial District, is no doubt unleashing his potentials as he provides Effective representation for Orlu zone.
He understands the protocol of engagement of development agencies and how to draw the attention of foreign organisations to explore avenues for the development of Orlu zone. This is why he held a meeting in Abuja with UNIDO representative.
Recall that during Izunaso’s first tenure in the Senate, he sponsored the study of gas potentials and deposit in Orlu zone and Imo State, thereby orchestrating the inclusion of South East in the national gas Development master plan. It was from that study that Imo State was discovered to hold the largest gas deposit in Nigeria and the 9th in the world, and the South East ultimately became captured in the national gas master plan.
Sen. Osita Izunaso is at it again. This time around, he has held meeting with the country representative of United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) Amb. Jean Bakole, to explore development prospects in the agricultural sector.
Agriculture is the priority area In the international industrial drive and its importance is significant. It is well-known fact that through agriculture, raw materials are produced for industries, food security is achieved and the population addresses social Determinant of Health to impact on population health and economic growth.
Exploring the Flora and fauna of Imo West Senatorial zone in order to jumpstart Economic development agenda is a visible strategic step being taken to ensure that the over 2million people of Orlu zone and by extension, Imo State, are able to experience high economic rejuvenation during his tenure of office.
Sen. Osita Izunaso is upbeat that with the assistance of the international agencies, needed technology, equipment, improved seedlings and varieties, and processing industries and export potentials could be attracted to transform the economic landscape of Orlu zone and to spur job creation and evolve economic viability of the zone.
Orlu zone is on the rise again because the right man is on the saddle. Kudos to Dist. Sen. Barr. Osita Bonaventure Izunaso, Kpakpando Orlu.
