OKWUDOR SECONDARY TECHNICAL SCHOOL SET 91 ALUMNI HELD REUNION, RESOLVES TO IMPACT LIVES
There was a feeling of nostalgia during the 2023 – 2024 Christmas and new year celebration as the OSTS SET 91 Alumni Association, led by Amb. Anthony Akalugo, successfully held maiden edition of reunion, after 33 years of graduation from the school.
The reunion witnessed the gathering of members of the set from across the country while members in the diaspora joined through zoom.
Addressing the members of the set, the President, Amb. Anthony Akalugo, remarked that a set such as OSTS SET 91 is crucial in someone’s life because it forms the major nucleus and caucus of relevance throughout life. He mentioned that one’s mates are the people who will truly understand one’s heartbeat, joys and fun, and offer the uncommon ambience to reminiscent.
He urged all to feel free to associate, adding that through the Alumni, support for one another is assured. He further stated that in addition to looking inwards to ensure that members’ welfare are given prime consideration, he announced the resolve of the leadership to drive outreach intervention in the Alma mater, details of which will be unveiled.
Rev. Fr. Henry Ekene Ihenetu, SDV, who was a junior to the OSTS SET 91 in the school, was a guest at the reunion. He urged the OSTS SET 91 to improve on membership drive in order to ensure that they reached out to all members of the set, and to engage in empowerment of members , adding that the essence of gathering of members of a set is not to come show-off wealth or privileges but to collaborate to uplift others. The Okwudor born cleric announced that plans are on the way to bring together all the alumni sets to form the single mother of OSTS Alumni Association, with the view to giving back to the school through strategic intervention.
OSTS SET 91 reunion committee chairman Mrs Ogechi Bankole nee Nwoke and her team was commended for putting together the homecoming while special recognition was made for the support of Mr Chigozie Duru and Mr Daniel Udaigwe, for their exceptional roles in the reunion project.
Members of OSTS SET 91 executive include Amb. Anthony Akalugo, President, Mrs Chika Calista Onyeka (nee Ihenetu), Welfare, Mr Anselm Duru, PRO, and Ms Nneka Nwadike, Secretary.
