IZUNASO DEMONSTRATES RESPECT FOR CULTURAL VALUES, VISITS SISTER’S MARITAL HOME, RECEIVES STREET NAMING IN ANAMBRA STATE COURTESY OF SEN. DR. TONY NWOYE
A good leader uses every opportunity to highlight true values and to show commitment to the course of development of humanity. This is deducible from the recent conduct of Sen. Osita Izunaso, Kpakpando Orlu, Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District in the national Assembly.
On 4th January, 2024, Dist. Sen. Osita Izunaso joined to attend the invitation of Ihitte Anam people of Anambra State, who married his younger sister, Mrs Ifeyinwa.
The invitation was at the instance of performing cultural practice called ” Ikporu ulo “, a practice whereby the family of the woman is formally invited to where she is married out to, to officially familiarize with the inlaws.
This is significant because it binds the two families together and makes each one to freely fraternise with the other, despite any unofficial knowledge of the family address that may have been.
Dist. Sen. Osita Izunaso didn’t claim to be too busy as not to find time to honour such invitation, which anyone could have claimed to be inconsequential and not having political mileage. But as a true son of the soil, he brought along his children and inspired all his siblings and their children to also attend. The people of Ohakpu came out in throngs to make the visit a success.
The presence of Sen. Osita Izunaso lighted the environment and elicited the radiance of ecstatic welcome from the people of Anam Anambra State.
Added to that was the visit of Sen. Dr Tony Nwoye, who represents Anambra North in the National Assembly.
Dr Tony Nwoye, while making his remarks of welcome promised to construct any road to be recommended by Ihitte Anam people and naming it after Sen. Osita Izunaso. He said that it is a way to witnessing to the dignifying role he plays as a senator and as a colleague who cherishes friendship.
Sen. Izunaso thanked Dr Tony Nwoye and the people of Ihitte Anam, reiterating that despite the fact that Ihitte Anam is located in Anambra West, he still extended his love from his jurisdiction of Anambra North. He urged the people to continue to look after and support his sister and family to achieve more exploits.
Izunaso is a model of refined leader, a man of intellect garnished with knowledge of cultural values and a true man of the people. He has continued to use his resources, erudition and presence to etch indelible marks in the annals of history, showing that the greatest achievement is to be a model to promote humanity.
