The saying that appreciation is an application for more favours is apt in the description of the birthday celebration of a man of eminent humility and intellectual sagacity, Amb. Anthony Chibundu Akalugo who turned 50 years of age in style..
On Wednesday 29th November, 2023, Akalugo marked his ascent to the 5th floor of his life. The unassuming gentle, exposed, goaloriented and altruistic service oriented fellow celebrated while flanked by friends, associates and his family members. The Celebration started with Thanksgiving mass, then moved to Motherless babies home and climaxed to a session with friends and associates at Legend Hotel, new Owerri.
Prof. Anthony Oha, the first Professor of Onomastics Science in Africa, moderated the birthday celebration.
Amb. Anthony Akalugo, who hails from Umuakaje, Umuseke, Okwudor, in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, is many things to many people. He is a certified Ambassador of African Digital Economy revolution of the 21st century.
He is the man behind the global brand ” Leadership Sustainability Coach ” a leadership Coach that makes waves across over four continents and fifteen countries across the world.
He is a media and public relations practitioner who is a brilliant actor in the public space.
Amb. Akalugo holds Bachelor of Technology degree, B.Tech. in Mathematics and Computer Science, FUTO, PGD in Transport and Logistics Management, NIFTECH, Onne, Master’s Degree in Transport Management (MTMLog) from Lautech, Ogbomoso, and he is presently a student of another postgraduate studies in Nigeria. He has done many offshore courses to garnish his knowledge base.
He holds various professional qualifications, such as Member Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria, CIPSMN, Member Nigerian Institute of Shipping, MNIS, Associate Member Certified Institute of Shipping, ACIS, and Associate Member Merchant Shipping Technology of Nigeria, AMST. He was also recently inducted into the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR.
Amb. Akalugo has attended several courses across Nigeria and beyond. He has been involved in extensive research work cutting across various disciplines in the course of his consulting works.
His dossier of work trail includes his work in profiled organisations. He served as Procurement officer and later Group Head Logistics of Rockson Engineering Company Limited, Port Harcourt, Manager Procurement and Logistics, Arik Air LTD, Lagos, General Manager Training and Corporate Relations, Daca Consults Ltd, Lagos.
In the public space, Amb. Akalugo served as the Legislative Aide to Igolo Njaba, the chairman House Committee on Education, Women Development and vulnerable Groups.
He was elected as the Leader of all Legislative Aides of 8th and 9th session of House of Assembly, imo State.
He is Editor of Dolly Online News and Director of Kpakpando Titanic Media. He served as the secretary of CIPSMN journal editorial board for over 10 years and successfully produced various editions of the journal. He is a co-pioneer editor of The Entrepreneur magazine, Lagos.
He is a renowned guest speaker, workshop facilitator, social commentator and endowed with singing talent.
Being a man of multiple parts, he is a public speaker, socioeconomic analyst, writer, and public policy critic, and a devoted Catholic. He ensures that there is work and social life and spiritual life balance, relating with people in exceptional ways.
Akalugo is the CEO of Acdore Integrated Services Limited, an organisation that offers excellent services in Media and Publicity, Training and Human capital development, Real Estate, Specialised Services such as event planning and execution, etc. He is also the Executive Director of The Periscope.
Marking his birthday with circle of friends, and associates cutting across the Periscope, Kpakpando Organization, course mates at CESPESS, and personalities from far and near, thronged out to celebrate the ebullient and dynamic man at 50 years. Testimonies were evident to the value he adds to socioeconomic and human relations interface in the society.
