CELEBRATING THE 57TH BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY OF SEN. OSITA IZUNASO, PRESIDENT OF KPAKPANDO FOUNDATION AND A QUINTESSENTIAL LAWMAKER
Great men are truly great not by dint of wishes or what they claim to be, but by a cursory assessment of their deeds. Actions of great men leave marks and imprimatur of greatness as trail of their lives.
One of the outstanding great men of our times is Dist. Sen. Osita Izunaso, Kpakpando Orlu, the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District.
A man with compassionate heart of gold, he has consistently shown his love for the needy, the people living with Disabilities, PLWD. Established Kpakpando Foundation in 2005, Sen. Osita Izunaso, chairman Board of Trustees, has ensured that the annual Celebration is held unbroken for 18 years. This is loud statement of purpose and consistency.
The 2023 edition also coincided with the birthday anniversary of the erudite Lawmaker and legal luminary.
He marked his 57th birthday celebration, celebrated with the people living with Disabilities, PLWD. Various equipment such as wheelchairs, sewing machines, electrical grinding machines, laptops, camp gas, noodles, charcoal stove, and lots more were distributed to thousands of people living with Disabilities, drawn from various states and Local government area of Imo State. In addition he distributed reasonable money to over 1000 beneficiaries present.
Presenting the chairman’s speech, Dist. Sen. Victor Umeh, who represents Anambra Central in the Senate described Sen. Izunaso as a sagacious Lawmaker with uncommon intelligence and sense of humility. He commended the learned Senator for setting the pace in caring for the needy and the people living with Disabilities, described it as the real class of people who are truly in need. Sen. Umeh remarked that providing for the disabled people is a divine injunction to earn one heavenly reward and praised Sen. Izunaso for choosing rightly.
The beneficiaries of the distributed items, the people living with Disabilities, took turns to thank Sen. Izunaso for his love for them. Among the people living with Disabilities was one, the coordinator of Orlu Local Government Area, whom he appointed as his special Assistant for the physically challenged.
Sen. Osita Izunaso has continued to blaze the trail in touching lives of the physically challenged in the society. He earlier facilitated the appointment of Mr Jaja as a member of the Federal commission for the people living with Disabilities.
Creme de la creme of the society attended the event. They include Sen. Victor Umeh, Prof. U. U. Chukwumaeze, VC IMSU, Sir Jude Ejiogu, former SSG, His Imperial Majesty, Eze Thomas Obiefule, commissioners, traditional rulers, and dignitaries from across various sectors.
Sen. Osita Izunaso has etched his name in gold, sustaining unbroken 18 years of providing for the people living with Disabilities. He says that he has made a perpetual commitment to fend for the physically challenged people.
