NJABA GETS SET FOR ANTI – MEASLES IMMUNISATION, AS DELEGATION ATTENDS PRE – IMMUNIZATION WORKSHOP

The Sole Administrator of Njaba Local Government Area, Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi, has continued to give quality leadership to the people of Njaba Local Government Area.
Ahead of the planned national IMMUNISATION program for children between the ages of 9 months and 59 months, Etiokwe Njaba delegated Amb. Anthony Akalugo, his Senior Special Assistant, to represent the Local Government Area.
At the workshop, participants from across the 27 Local Government Area of Imo State were briefed on the critical need for vaccination of children. It was emphasized that the target coverage is 95% and that children who have taken anti-measles vaccination before may have had sensitivity failure in the past due to poor storage of the vaccine. As such they are all to be immunized since there is no overdose but need for total coverage.
Dr Odom, the program coordinator commended His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodimma for his stout support and performance in the health sector thereby making health program implementation possible.
Dr Odom added that the free surgery, and various medical outreach going on across the state demonstrates the commitment of the governor to providing quality healthcare to the imo State people.
Vaccination against measles starts across the state and the country on 19th October and runs through 27th October 2023.
Sole Administrator of Njaba therefore has commenced the logistics support to the medical team of the local government council, and urges all community leaders, religious leaders and Stakeholders to mobilize at the grassroots to achieve effective participation across Njaba, as 95% coverage is unnegotiable.
