NJABA SOLAD BIDS FAREWELL TO LATE HON. CHIMA EKWEM, DESCRIBES HIM AS A MAN WHO SERVED HUMANITY WITH PASSION
Great men and women of memorable conduct who spent time to serve humanity cannot just exit this Earth without respect from institutions they lived in and served. This is the stance of the performing Sole Administrator of Njaba Local Government Area, Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi, who recently received the remains of Late Hon. CHIMA Ekwem, who served as commissioner in Imo State but hailed from Njaba Local Government Area.
Chief Chima Ekwem who died at the age of 78 years was a commissioner for youth and sports in Imo State.
In his tradition of according departed leaders final respect whenever the burial itinerary is scheduled, Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi, Etiokwe Njaba, arrived at 7am at Njaba council Headquarters, Nnenasaa to ensure that Njaba leadership paid the departed leader last respect.
Omere Njaba Juoyi expressed sense of loss with the exit of one of the icons of Njaba LGA, recalling his exploits that signalled Njaba as a place of respect and distinction. He said that Hon. CHIMA Ekwem was one of the names that stood out in his days, saying that his death at the time when his wealth of experience is most needed is a huge loss to all. He urged the family of Ekwem to take solace in the hope of life after death urging them to uphold the pedigree he lived for.
Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi later returned to the family for a personal condolence visit to the large family of Ekwem, commiserated with the widow of Late Chief Chima Ekwem and the rest of Ekwem dynasty.
Etiokwe Njaba has continued to use every opportunity to show leadership, compassion and care for Njaba people. This is one of the cogent steps that stabilizes the council and reminds all that insecurity has given way to social development. Normalcy has returned to Njaba as people carry on their programs without fear of insecurity anymore.
