The Governor of NO Woman NO Nation Imo State Chapter, Hajia Aisha Obi in a maiden meeting of the association held in Owerri, stated that the association has lots of benefits for women whom she described as the bed rock of the nation.
Hajia Aisha Obi said, ” The state stands to benefit a lot from the national body of the association, but there’s need for us to make a little sacrifice by ensuring that the association is rooted properly and operating on the same page with her counter part who have started enjoying the dividends of the association “.
She maintained that ” this first physical meeting would ease off the misgivings , cushion fears and correct the misinterpretation that the association is a fraud.”
Aisha Obi encouraged members to be patient as the association is at its formation stage, as she stressed the need for members to get their certificates.
Earlier, the Secretary of the Association, Mrs Nwoha Chinedu, recalled her ordeal in the quest for a venue for meeting while thanking Dorothy Nnaji for securing a place for them. She encouraged women who want to form part of the executive to pay the stipulated amount that will enable them get certificate which is a necessity.
The highpoint of the meeting was the Inauguration of a 2-man committee saddled with the responsibility of purchasing state uniform for the women . The committee members are Mrs Chidinma Iwuamanan and Mrs Nwoha Chinedu.
