YOUTH OF ORLU ZONE MAKE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE, ENDORSE SEN. HOPE UZODIMMA FOR SECOND TERM IN OFFICE

YOUTH OF ORLU ZONE MAKE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE, ENDORSE SEN. HOPE UZODIMMA FOR SECOND TERM IN OFFICE

In what could serve as the greatest move to unify Orlu zone, the youth of Orlu zone held a very successful summit titled Rise and Shine.

The summit which held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church field, Amaifeke, Orlu Local Government Area, witnessed throngs of youths from the twelve local government areas of Orlu zone, converge to make emphatic statement of purpose.

It is evident that insecurity in the area has been significantly downgraded and as such normalcy has begun to return to the once troubled zone. This is a significant take home from the summit as the roll call of all the local government areas of Orlu zone, showed significant turn out of youth from all the local government areas of the zone. The Local Government Areas include: Ideato North, Ideato South, Oru East, Oru West, Ohaji-Egbema, Oguta, Orlu, Orsu, Nkwere, Nwangele, Isu and Njaba Local Government Areas.

Delivering the address by the chairman of the organising Committee, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, the youth were reminded that the governor who is a son of Orlu zone and a mentor intentionally empowered the youth significantly in his administration. Mention was made of the litany of Special Advisers, commissioners, elected House members and other strategic appointments which the governor gave to youth members. Such that the Deputy Speaker is also a youth among others, is a significant empowerment of the youth zone.

The youth were charged to fully embrace the path of peace, encourage all others to toe the path of peace and end all forms of violence, further reminded that development can never be achieved in an atmosphere of insecurity and violence. He specifically charged the youth to eschew all forms of politically motivated violence, which according to the governor is often sponsored by opposition members to score cheap political goals but to embrace peace for the good of all.

The youth of Orlu zone came out representing all formidable structures including community leadership, sociopolitical leadership, cultural leadership and lots more.

The Chief of staff to the governor, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, Eze Umuokorobia, represented the governor and delivered the message of the governor. In his message, the governor, His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodimma conveyed his love for Orlu youth and youth of Imo State in general. He commended them for their show of love and commitment to Development ideals and urged them to shun all vices and promote peace at their various ends. He assured the youth of his determination to engage in more programs and projects that will impact the youth positively. He emphasized that an empowered youth is a secure future.

Sen. Osita Izunaso was on hand to do accreditation of the various local government areas and all with no exception affirmed support for Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, Onwa Oyoko, to be supported for re-election. The senator urged the youths to take charge of their booths and to be leaders of the grassroots, which according to him speaks more volumes than leadership away from home.

Leaders of Orlu zone thronged out en mass to spice the summit and it turned out to be a carnival where procession and march-past of youth according to their Local Government Area was the highpoint of the summit activities.

Present at the summit were the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, Sen. Osita Izunaso, Chief COSMAS Maduba, Odoebube Isu, Prince Ford Ozumba, Commissioner for Labour and productivity, Hon. Rex Anunobi, (Sokom) Commissioner for Transport, the Federal legislators, state legislators, other commissioners, Sole Administrators, appointees and a litany of personalities from Orlu zone.

Hon. Johnkennedy Okpoko led Imo State and Orlu zonal community youths to the summit. Comrd. G.O.C Nwadike thanked the organisers and conveyed the love of the youths to the governor, in appreciation, assuring him that the youths support his re-election bid come November 2023.

Youth of Orlu zone and various structures including the special citizens unanimously endorsed the re-election of Gov. Hope Uzodimma, affirming the Imo Charter of Equity and stating with one intent and purpose that the governor has shown capacity in all aspects of governance and therefore deserves a second term in office.

Orlu zone is now United in forging ahead with Gov. Uzodimma for the next tenure of office as the governor of Imo State and they called on other zones to implement the agreement reached in the charter of equity by voting governor Hope Uzodimma.
