ETIOKWE NJABA AND ABANA GRACE AMUCHA WOMEN AND UMUAMUCHA WOMEN AUGUST MEETING, URGE THEM TO RECIPROCATE THE GOOD WORKS OF SEN. HOPE UZODIMMA

August meeting is an innovative developmental initiative of Igbo women. It is a forum, for women of each community to gather from far and near to deliberate on Development strides of the people and to settle disputes among their people.

The Advent of August meeting celebration has further reechoed the think-home attributes of igbos, a special characteristic of Igbo people.

Women all over Igbo land, across autonomous communities, villages, clans, local government areas, states and churches have adopted August Meeting as a significant part of the women’s calendar and it has become a highpoint of each year’s agenda.

The 2023 August Meeting for the women of imo State and the respective local government areas and communities is not an exception, particularly as there is restoration of peace and order in the once troubled State under siege of insecurity.

Etiokwe Njaba, the Sole Administrator of Njaba Local Government Area, in company of Hon. Chigozie Ibenjo, Abana, the GLO of Amucha ward one, honoured invitation brought to them by women of Amucha autonomous Community, held at Okwaraorji palace, Amucha.

There arrival at the August meeting venue was greeted with cheers as the women warmly welcomed the chief servant of the Local Government, Hon. Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi, and their son, Abana, the GLO of Amucha ward one.

Similarly, the duo moved over to UMUAMUCHA women meeting to also identify with them.

At both venues, the sole Administrator used the opportunity to commend the women for their good works in supporting development of communities, sustaining the drive to mark annual August meeting and for being the heart of the workings of the home. He assured them that their good works are taken note of as they remain significant in the affairs of the society.

Oputaobie Njaba urged them women to take the good message of the need to sustain the good works of His Excellency, Sen Hope Uzodimma to other women and to the respective families. He threw the question to the women, particularly at Amucha women meeting, and they all in unison admitted that the governor has performed tremendously well that deserves their supporting him for another tenure.

The sole Administrator pledged his continued support to the women, reminding them that as a grandson of Ohonya, Amucha Ancient kingdom is his maternal, and second home and therefore he will always place them in high regard. He assured that more dividends of democracy will reach the people of Amucha and Umuamucha from the local government and from the state.

Abana, while adding to the discours assured the women that with him teaming up with the sole Administrator, great things will continue to happen to uplift the standard of living of the people. He reminded the women that with the support of the sole Administrator, Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi and Ezengwori Njaba, Hon. Chief Ozioma Worship Ebonine, that they have already embarked on the project of reactivating their two boreholes to serve the people. In addition, the duo supported the meeting financially and urged the women to continue to be good ambassadors of the people.

In response, the women expressed their joy with the duo, stated that their humble disposition and show of regard, solidarity, to them is endearing and therefore assured full support to their course. They reaffirmed their support to the governor and assured of total support for his re-election project, since his good works and through the Representatives at the local government and ward levels, they are duly recognised and are experiencing his good Governance.

Etiokwe Njaba has sustained the grassroots reach to ensure total victory for governor Hope Uzodimma, a conscious move to sustain good works and quality service to the people.
