NIPR COUNCIL ELECTION VICTORY OF PRINCE FORD OZUMBA AND ELEVATION OF SEN. OSITA IZUNASO pTO A FELLOW OF NIPR IS A DOUBLE BARREL ENDORSEMENT OF KPAKPANDO FAMILY
The composition of the Council of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, holds through Council election. Notably, the Council is comprised of 22 members out of which 5 members are drawn from statutory nomination of the government and others are by election, voted by accredited members of the institute.
From among the members of the Council, and particularly, the elected members, the president and chairman of the council is elected followed by the vice president of the Institute, and other statutory offices are drawn from the membership of the council.
Significantly, Imo State Chapter successfully produced Prince Ford Ozumba, who was elected into the council, the supreme body of the institute.
The Election into the council held on 24th August at NAF centre, Abuja. It was consequently followed with the election of the president of the institute and chairman of the governing Council. Dr Ike Neliaku, FNIPR, who hails from Anambra State, emerged after a keenly contested election and he therefore became the first president of the Institute of Igbo extraction.
Prince Ford Ozumba is going to serve as a member of the council for a tenure of two years. His emergence is a source of pride to Imo State Chapter of NIPR and the South East region in general.
Dist. Sen. Osita Bonaventure Izunaso, a senior member of the institute, after a series of examinations and screening, was elevated to the height of a fellow of the institute.
Fellowship status of an institute achieved through merit, not an honorary fellowship, is the highest pinnacle a member can attain. His fellowship award is therefore an affirmation of his erudition, professionalism, distinction and Sterling standing in the public relations practice.
The victory of Prince Ford Ozumba and the elevation of Dist. Sen. Osita Izunaso to the fellowship status of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, is a double barrel endorsement of the Kpakpando family, a clear indication that the family is made up of crack team of intelligent and distinguished gentlemen.
