The attention of the office of the Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe has been drawn to a baseless and fallacious publication in Social Media with the caption Crisis Rocks Imo Govt House As Speaker Forges the signature of Governor Hope Uzodimma and Secretary to Imo State Government chief Cosmos Iwu to obtain
note verbale .
In Statement released by the Speaker through his chief press secretary Mr Peter Uwa reads “that the Speaker, Rt Hon Chike Olemgbe did not and would not forge the Signatures of the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Secretary to the state government, Chief Cosmas Iwu and that of another government official, to enable him obtain note verbale or any travel documents for 30 persons.”
The Speaker through his CPS described this as unfounded and could only emanate from enemies of the present administration.
The Speaker said ” after going through the fabricated, concocted and blended writeup served undiluted to innocent and unsuspecting members of the public by the usual enemies of Okigwe Senatorial District , it made him to laugh histerically.”
“At first, our attitude towards that shady and malicious piece of propaganda that could never be proven in reality any where, any time, was to ignore it and allow its authors and witch-hunting sponsors hit their empty skulls on brick walls but, remembering that in some matters and issues of life, silence might be interpreted as consent, we made U-turn and decided to react briefly.”
“First and foremost, the authors of that fallacious and unfounded piece of information that is circulating on social media and envious, are certainly jealous and unhappy with the level of Father-Son relationship that exist between the peoples Governor, the Lion of Southeast Geo-political Zone, Senator Hope Uzodimma and the vibrant Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Chike Olemgbe”.
” their evil intention which is simple, is to throw Chike Olemgbe out of office as they
cited the removal of three or four House of Assembly Speakers from Okigwe extraction from office under the watch of Governor Hope Uzodimma in less than four years as a regular occurrence speaks volumes of the evil intention of that damnable, condemnable and accursed publication against an innocent political son of Hope Uzodimma whose support and blessings led to the emergence of Chike Olemgbe as Number One lawmaker in Imo State.”
Also, the frustrated sponsors and allies of the greedy, selfish and ungodly publication with their mentors were so beclouded and eclipsed by shallow-mindedness to the extent that they forgot and failed woefully to know that the very powerful Governor who allowed a vibrant youth and seasoned administrator of human and material resources, Chike Olemgbe to emerge as Speaker of the State House of Assembly can never and would not refuse to do anything less in order of importance for him and his relations .
As he went further to question “how on Earth can the most powerful Governor and Governor of other governors look the other way on hearing his political son’s demand over a meagre issue such as travel permit.”
“We only want to be brief in response to this baseless allegation in view of the fact that Silence is golden and, it would amount to flogging a dead horse to begin to give relevance to a case that does not exist at all”.
