IIMO FIRST LADY CALLS ON WOMEN TO TAKE CHARGE OF THEIR HOMES

A call has been made for women to take charge in order to have success homes.

The call was made by the Imo State First Lady, Her Excellency, Barr. Mrs. Chioma Uzodinma who was ably represented by Hon. Mrs. Praise Sonate during the Dominion City Women Convention held in Owerri the a theme The Role of Women in Revival.

Barr. Mrs. Uzodinma Pointed out that the role of women in revival has to start from the home, noting that when a woman is in-charge of the home, the children will not miss their tracks. She also emphasized the importance of unity amongst women as the man will only take the women serious when there is unity of purpose among women.

Describing the Barr Mrs. Uzodinma as passionate when it comes to women and the girl child, Hon. Mrs. Praise outline some of the achievements of the Imo First Lady which include the sponsorship of the bill in the State House of Assembly which ensures that perpetrators of sexual violence are punished by the law, provision of rehabilitation for victims of drug abuse and many more.

While stating that revival must start from the homes as mothers has a role in ensuring proper upbringing of their children. She called on Mothers to be more vigilant and more involved in the activities of their children as this will help reduce a lot of vices in the society.


While speaking on the theme of the conventionp, Pst. Mrs Jane Nnanna called on women to have the audacity to confront social vices in the home. She encouraged women to braze up and confront any form of social vices being notice among the youths and try to win them back to God and the society.

The leader of the Women’s Ministry, Mrs Winifred Okpara King while responding to questions on the Theme of the convention said that women has a great role to as mothers in the family, noting that the character of a women transcends to the type of children she would raise. In her words “ an angry woman would raise and angry child, when you raise an agry child, the society will get a dysfunctional child”. Stating that revival must start from the inside, that women should go back to God to pray for the husbands, their children and the government.

The Dominion City women Convention as we gathered the programme has on for more than eight years with this year’s event holding from 24th to 27th August had as some of its special invitees, the President of Imo NAWOJ, Dr. Mrs. Dorothy Okafor, His worship Uzoamaka Oyirioha and Red Cross Mothers, Imo State Branch.
