SEN. OSITA IZUNASO ATTENDS THE FORMAL PRESENTATION OF IMO APC DEPUTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE – LADY CHINYERE EKOMARU, URGES IMOLITES TO SUPPORT REELECTION OF GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA
Politics is never a one man show, never an individual thing but a collectivist approach because the benefits are collateral in nature.
The governor of Imo State, His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodimma is on the verge of concluding his first tenure of office in Douglas House and he is billed to run for re-election come November, 2023.
In the wisdom of the governor and in due consultation with the stakeholders of Imo and Owerri polity, and in deference to ecumenical sensitivity, coupled with gender inclusion, decided to make a choice of a new deputy to run on the joint ticket with him.
It is therefore evident that Prof. Placid Njoku, the current Deputy Governor, will not be returning to office. But the Governor, while addressing the mammoth crowd of stakeholders at Landmark event centre, Owerri, stated that the deputy governor is not diminished at all in the political arrangement but remains a critical stakeholder in the system.
Sen. Osita Izunaso representing Imo West Senatorial District and Sen. Ndubueze, representing Imo North (Okigwe) Senatorial District were in attendance. Also Federal House members of APC from Imo State were all present. This is to show solidarity with the governor and the APC family at the all important APC forum to present the Deputy governorship candidate to the people.
The governor put a poser in the process, if people are alleging that he has a hand in insecurity in the state, why should a seating governor activate insecurity that consumes his supporters, his people? He reiterated that virtually all who have been killed are leaders and supporters of APC and not opposition members and queried how reasonable is the thought? He reechoed the axiom that he who kills by the sword must die by the sword and prayed that the Mastermind of the senseless killings must not go unpunished.
Also citing the recent burning of the house of Rt. Hon. Jerry Alagboso, two weeks after leaving PDP to declare for APC…he added that it shows a pattern of threat from the opposition who threatened to make the state ungovernable…but the resolve of Imolites supersedes the threat of opposition and therefore victory is ahead… Imo, according to him must not succumb to the devilish plans of the opposition, unleashing mayhem.
Sen. Osita Izunaso urged Imolites to support the re-election of Sen. Hope Uzodimma as the governor of Imo State, which, according to the ranking senator, is the best choice for Imo State. Team work is necessary for development and the coming of the Federal lawmakers to work closely with the governor portends a good omen for ndi imo. Sen. Izunaso is making significant impact in the sociopolitical drive to move Imo forward. Weldon the people’s senator, you are doing well and ndi Imo have assured that Sen Hope Uzodimma will receive renewed mandate for another four years.
Your strides in the red Chambers are visible and your team spirit is infectious, your support to progress of imo State is clear and indeed you are a beacon of democratic integrity and purposeful representation.
