RE: STATE OF THE NATION, By Imo New Dawn

…Imo New Dawn is a faceless group that has no known promoter – IHFGG

Imo Hope for Good Governance, IHFGG, has once again uncovered the gimmick deployed by opposition elements to blackmail our performing Governor, His Excellency, Sen Hope Odidika Uzodimma, Onwa Oyoko, this time around, they are coming under the guise of the name Imo New Dawn.

While we are not given to the practice of sacrificing a chicken whenever we hear the cry of bush cat, we seek to put records straight for the sake of unsuspecting imolites who may be deceived by those masquerading as Imo New Dawn, a name that has no known promoter.

That in their submissions they harped on the following:

  1. Purported harassment of IKENGA IMO UGOCHINYERE: we wish to state here that His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodimma does not have privilege of time, being a very busy governor seeing to the affairs of the state, the south East and the nation, as the chairman of Nigerian Progressive Governors Forum. IKENGA IMO doesn’t exist in his diary because he is and remains an insignificant figure. That he is the Federal House of Representatives member Representing Ideato nation is only a start point as he has not understood the full dimensions to representation. He needs to understand that he cannot continue to insult his elders and expect an elder to respond to him.

Given to the fact that the likes of IKENGA IMO UGOCHINYERE do not believe in slow and steady pace of growth in politics but believe in creating an entangling impression so that people can rank him along the greats when he cries wolf when there is no danger. His noisy nature is fast becoming nuisance to ordinary imolites as we all know that such recalcitrance is not expected of a supposed honourable fellow. We advise Ugochinyere to focus on his junior parliamentary role, as a member of the lower Chambers, and represent Ideato nation properly. Our dear governor is committed to giving all imolites, including Ugochinyere quality leadership leading to full delivery of the benefits of democracy.

  1. That Mohammed Barde is still working in imo State whereas Stephen Olanrewaju has been posted to replace him as Commissioner of Police is not the business of our focused governor. When people who claim to be a gang of professionals delve into wrong intent, it makes them to look tardy and unkempt. Posting and removal or transfer of police officers and commissioner inclusive is the duty of the Federal police service Commission and not the role of the Governor. How will a set of supposed professionals not know as much as this elementary fact of structure of security apparatus in the country? We advise you learn the right things and stop your maligning gimmicks.
  2. Nonso Nkwa and his travails: he who fetches ant infested firewood invites the lizards as his guest is an Igbo adage. One who is making weighty allegations should be able to substantiate. Making libelous statements is criminal and once he steps beyond the boundaries of civility, he should face the wrath of the law. However, we are not positing that he should be held beyond stipulations of the law but the security operatives should be allowed to do the needful so that he will duly face judicial process for his actions. Attempting to smear the governor is innocuous, insensitive and ultra vires.

The call to disband Ebubeagu refers. If the so called Imo New Dawn were sensitive to the security situation, they would have first condemned sponsorship of insecurity and recommended responsive ways to tackle it in a holistic manner. That they keep mum to the sponsorship of insecurity, an action well-known to be the pet project of opposition groups is disgusting and inhumane. We stand for protection of lives and properties and the reign of peace and progress in the land not an act to malign and score cheap political goals.

Imo Hope for Good Governance, IHFGG, therefore advises innocuous groups like Imo New Dawn to engage in critical appraisal of the system before coming to the public because where there is improper diagnosis, there can never be effective therapy. Our Distinguished governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma is doing marvelously well and should be supported to do more, not to engage in throwing tantrums on a man set for s good mission to serve Imo well.
