The Inauguration of the 10th session of Imo State House of Assembly has held. It held today, 16th June, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reading out the proclamation of the Governor, Sen Hope Uzodimma, the Clerk and Head Legislative Services, Barr. Mrs Chinelo Emeghara refered to the relevant clause of the Constitution that empowered the governor to issue the proclamation order for the Inauguration of the 10th Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roll call of elected lawmakers was made and since all were present, satisfying the constitutional requirement of minimum of 2\/3rd members preeent, the house quorum was formed and therefore inaugurated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new speaker Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe as the oath of office is administered to him by the Clerk Barr Mrs Chinelo Emeaghara <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Hon. Chike Olemgbe, of Ihitte Uboma Constituency was elected unanimously following the nomination made by the member Representing Ideato South, Hon. Azodo seconded by member representing Owerri Municipal, Obodo Ugochukwu Augustine. Since there was no objection and no further nomination, Hon. Olemgbe was returned elected unopposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Deputy speaker nomination was led by Rt. Hon. Samuel Otuibe of Ahaizu Mbaise Constituency and seconded by Osakwe Modestus of Isu state Constituency. He nominated the member Representing Nwangele Constituency, who also served in the 9th Assembly as Deputy Speaker. Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu emerged unopposed as the Deputy speaker of the 10th House of Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

with emergence of Speaker and Deputy Speaker, the Clerk, Barr. Mrs Chinelo Emeaghara administered the Oath of office, oath of Allegiance and oath of membership to the duo and that was followed by the Inauguration of other members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Significantly, the lawmakers came with their spouses for Inauguration. Supporters came in throngs to witness the Inauguration of the 10th house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is another milestone in the democratic journey of Imo State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
