KPAKPANDO FOUNDATION CELEBRATES 18TH ANNIVERSARY, SEEKS TO UNLOCK POTENTIALS AND HOPE FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH DISABILITIES (PWD)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebrating with the people who have no means of rewarding the benefactor has been said to be of high potency in divine reward. This is a very uncommon line of charity in the public space where many would rather give, as loan to be repaid, harvested in no distant future. Kpakpando Foundation, founded by Dist. Sen. Osita Bonaventure Izunaso, in 2005, is a non-governmental and not for profit Organization, focusing on the thematic area of catering for people living with Disabilities, PLWD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kpakpando Foundation, since its inception, has steadily committed its annual anniversary to the welfare of people Living with Disabilities, PLWD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The affairs and welfare of the people in this category is primary focus of this foundation. It is in public knowledge that people Living with Disabilities are important part of our demography but they have not been fairly treated in the past, in the country, Nigeria. And this negligence directly affects the population stability and cordial existence of the society. The sociological implications of not caring for the vulnerable sect is an indictment of the public governance space. It calls for a man with real milk of kindness and unwavering commitment to a covenant of charity to engage in caring for the physically challenged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kpakpando Foundation identified the welfare of the common man, particularly, the people who are in one way or the other, deformed, as a crucial part of regenerating humanity and empowering the people. This is because, as a philosopher would say, the weak link of a system is the true measure of the strength of that system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Significantly, Kpakpando Foundation has been a major player in catering for the wellbeing, empowerment and sponsorship of the People Living with Disabilities, PLWD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the previous editions of the annual Celebration, the Foundation used the opportunity of the anniversary to interact with the people, described in some special quarters as special citizens. They have severally engaged in significant empowerment of the physically challenged, providing them mobility, hearing aids, wheel chairs, various equipment to aid the beneficiaries, empowered them to engage in commerce and productivity, provided home gadgets, skillup equipment such as grinding machines, hair dryers, generators, and lots more. Thousands of people living with Disabilities have received assistance from Kpakpando Foundation spanning through the eighteen years of existence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to these, Kpakpando Foundation has consistently dolled out huge funds to provide and sponsor the special citizens to national events, sponsored medical bills, provided foodstuff, assisted them in providing special requests to improve their living standards, and lots more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perusing through the eye-catching report of support and intervention in the life of the people living with Disabilities, Dist. Sen. Osita Izunaso, the President of the Kpakpando Foundation, received an award of honour from the United Nations. This is as a result of his quality service to the people living with Disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still reference to the Sterling assessment of his performance, he was installed as a Grandpatron of the National Association of People Living with Disabilities. He is a pillar both nationally and internationally and that is why Kpakpando Foundation sets high standard of performance according to global standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a man who has unwavering passion and astute commitment to enhancing the affairs of the physically challenged people, he has engaged in championing legislative process to repeal and reenact a bill for a law for the welfare of the people living with Disabilities in Nigeria. This repeal and reenactment has passed through first reading on the floor of the Senate and it is hoped that it will also Cascade down in form of domestication for the good of the people living with Disabilities, when it is eventually passed and assented to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s celebration of the Kpakpando Foundation Anniversary, with the theme “Unlocking Potentials: Hope for people living with Disabilities, PLWD,” will hold on Sunday, 29th October, 2023. It is to be chaired by the Vice Chancellor of the Imo State University, Owerri, Prof. U. U. Chukwumaeze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kpakpando Foundation is setting the pace in social inclusion and care for the vulnerable class and should be celebrated by all and sundry for the good of humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
